Importing Magic The Gathering Decks into Tabletop Simulator - Updated Dec ten

A concise guide for one mode (searching for new ways if whatever) on how you bring your deck into Tabletop Simulator

For my friends and myself

Note: I am however new to Magic The Gathering.
Nevertheless, this basic guide may exist useful for those who started Tabletop or just want to keep this as a reference

Hither are things I typically await for and do when searching for a deck.

Await for...
  • A commander (Explore via https://edhrec.com/)
  • A top-rated deck (Search via http://tappedout.net/)

Search Method
  • Search[tappedout.internet]
  • Ringlet down to "Commander (EDH)"
  • Type the name of commander chosen
  • Gyre down to the terminal filter "Ordering"
  • "Score (descending)"

Download / Export

Summary

Download .txt file via the deck yous've chosen (From http://tappedout.net)

Instance

Steps

i. Vote upward (Optional)

  • Optional, but some decks require a vote for yous to add your deck into your own folder if you accept an account and want to employ folders
  • Green "Upvote" push, Left side, bottom of epitome

2. Download the deck

  • Gyre downwardly a bit, left still
  • Click"Download / Export / Embed Code", white button (Sometimes the text is trimmed for smaller screens)
  • Summit, center of window pop-up
  • Click "Export/Download", White, drop-down carte du jour
  • Choose "Text (.txt)" (The ".txt" file should automatically download for y'all)

Tip

: After download, "Open containing folder" gets you straight to the file without hassle

Convert to Tabletop Simulator

Summary

Convert the ".txt" (The deck you've downloaded) to ".json" (File type that Tabletop Simulator tin read) via https://frogtown.me (Alternatives needed A.S.A.P.)

Where?

How?

ane. Go your deck set

  • Open that downloaded ".txt" file (The deck you lot've chosen) with whatever text editor (Windows' default "Notepad", "Notepad++", etc)
  • Select everything in that file (Ctrl + A for fast selection)
  • Copy

2. Import your deck into the converter

  • Click "Majority Add together" (White push, bottom-center of page)
  • Paste into that white box, drop-downward
  • Submit

3. Catechumen information technology!

  • Click "Consign" (To the correct of "Bulkl Add")
  • Click "Tabletop Simulator"
  • Await for it to process (A loading, rotating icon appears, right)
  • "Save TTS Deck"
  • Rename that ".json" file to whatsoever you want. Information technology will not interfere with annihilation

Tip

: After download, "Open containing folder" gets you straight to the file without hassle

Import Then Spawn!

Summary

Motion the ".json" file to "Saved Objects" folder and then spawn the deck in Tabletop Simulator.

Move it!

  • Copy / cutting / elevate that -renamed- ".json" file which is in whatever location yous saved it to on your desktop
  • (Windows) Detect Documents\My Games\Tabletop Simulator\Saves\Saved Objects
  • (Mac) Find ~/Library/Tabletop Simulator (Be sure that the
    'Library" folder is not hidden. More read)

    (Copy-paste the above underlined element into the binder address bar [Not the search!] or manually click the folders in the lodge separated by the slashes)

Prepare in 2 Means!

ane. "CREATE" > "SINGLEPLAYER"
Or
2. Join a friends' lobby (Y'all need to be promoted in order to be able to spawn your deck)

Summon it!

  • Click "Objects" (Height-eye-left-ish)
  • Click "Saved Objects" (4th choice)

Tip

: Got an object you like? You lot can salvage that object and information technology'll be in "Saved Objects!"
